Synopsis

Eddie and his sidekick Soapy are riding along peacefully when they hear gunshots. Upon investigation, they discover a stagecoach robbery in progress and manage to drive off the gunmen. As both the driver and the guard are wounded, Eddie and Soapy drive the stage into town. On board the stage are Lola, a singer who works in Duke Dillon's saloon; Mr. Trimble, the town's new parson; and Judge Roy Hilton, a circuit judge who, unknown to Eddie, was the intended target of the gunmen. In Rawhide City, Hilton asks Eddie to aid his efforts to clean up the town. As Hilton, Trimble, Eddie and Soapy travel to the ranch owned by Sherry Lynn, Eddie's sweetheart, and her mother, Duke's men again try to kill Hilton. Eddie manages to capture one of them. At the ranch, Eddie locks up the gunman, and is surprised when Hilton declares that he believes in giving criminals a second chance. Later, he reveals that his own son was kidnapped as a child by a man the judge had convicted of murder. That night, Duke's man is set free by Nevada, a mysterious stranger whom Sherry has hired as a ranch hand. Eddie witnesses Nevada's actions and, disappointed, Sherry fires Nevada. Hilton intervenes when Eddie tries to stop Nevada from leaving the ranch and explains that he hopes Nevada will lead him to stolen federal gold. Later Nevada uses the name of Duke's man as an introduction to Dad Dillon, whose headquarters are in an abandoned mine. After Dad hires Nevada, he sends him into town to meet Duke. When Hilton starts to institute changes in the town, Duke orders Nevada to kill him. While Nevada, who is working undercover, reports back to Hilton, Colonel Blake, Duke's partner, tells Dad that Hilton is the same judge who sent him to jail years earlier. Duke is really Hilton's long-lost son. Eddie, Nevada and Soapy search Dillon's mine for the missing gold and find it just before Dad and his gang arrive. In the meantime, Sherry asks Lola to help stop Duke from killing his own father. Even though Trimble confirms their story, Duke is determined not to back down. Father and son face each other, but when Dad shoots Hilton in the back, Duke shoots Dad. Hilton is only wounded, but Duke is killed in the crossfire. Having found his son only to lose him again, Hilton sets off with Nevada to clean up the next town.
