Synopsis

Cupid O'Brien, a florist's delivery boy who fancies himself a handwriting expert, determines to find a man of good character for his friend Susie. In his effort to find Susie a suitable beau, Cupid becomes involved with a spy ring led by Morgan, a florist who is transmitting messages in flower arrangements for an enemy government. Convinced by Morgan's handwriting that he is actually a United States government agent, Cupid and his friend Jefferson become unwitting dupes for the spy ring. After appointing Cupid his assistant, Morgan instructs him to investigate Callahan, the reporter who has been on his trail. Upon the arrival of volume two of his handwriting correspondence course, however, Cupid discovers that his analysis has been incorrect and Morgan is a liar and a crook. He also discovers that Callahan is the appropriate beau for Susie. Cupid relates this information to Callahan, who learns that a bomb is to be planted in a floral piece at a luncheon in order to kill Susie, who knows too much about Morgan's operation. Before they can act, Cupid and Callahan are captured by Morgan's men, but Cupid escapes in time to save Susie's life. With Morgan's gang under arrest, Callahan wins an exclusive story as well as Susie's hand in marriage.
