Synopsis

Rick, a writer, his publisher, Parks, and his secretary, Edith--along with a photographer and five seductive models--break into a seemingly deserted medieval castle to take some photographs for horror story bookjackets. The castle is occupied, however, by a former actor named Anderson, a psychopathic sadist who has shut himself off from the world. Initially, he intends to send the group away, but he recognizes Edith as his former fiancée. Although he puts the dungeon off-limits, they proceed to take pictures there with the models posed in provocative costumes. This arouses Anderson's bloodlust, and he assumes the identity of the "Crimson Executioner" who was hanged centuries before for having a private torture chamber. Anderson, using many of the executioner's sadistic devices, eventually kills everyone except Edith and Rick; but he himself is done in by the poisoned barbs of the "Lover-of-Death" machine. Edith and Rick then leave the castle.
