Synopsis

In Rome, Federico Fendi, a lawyer, falls in love with and marries Carla, his colleague Renzo's fiancée, despite Renzo's expressed fear that Carla is secretly a high-priced call girl. Federico's suspicion grows; he begins to follow Carla and becomes convinced of the truth of the accusation in the wake of several coincidences. Federico learns that Carla is innocent of any wrongdoing only after she kills herself over what she sees as her husband's obsessively jealous nature.
