Synopsis
In 1974 thoroughbred horse Ruffian dominates the circuit. Sportswriter Bill Nack gives a firsthand account of Ruffian, her owners, trainers, jockey and fans and how, in a dramatic parallel to the womens' movement, she prepares to race against her rival, Kentucky Derby winner Foolish Pleasure.
