Notes

Although a print of the film has not been located, its trailer was viewed, indicating that the film's subtitle was "Story of a Combat Sergeant." As confirmed in Variety, a short-lived, thirty-minute television series entitled Combat Sergeant was broadcast on the ABC television network in the summer of 1956. According to information in the NYSA, in mid-October 1956, National Telefilm Associates, Inc. submitted a censorship application for Desert Mission, which their cover letter stated was a feature-length film.
Additional information in the NYSA files reveals that National Telefilm never submitted a complete dialogue continuity for review. It is unclear if Desert Mission consisted of a compilation of some of the teleplays or was a newly edited feature-length version of the television series. Actor Cliff Clark, who portrayed principal character "General Harrison," died on February 8, 1953, indicating that the series was shot at least three years prior to its first television broadcast.
