Synopsis
The School of Engineering students at the Lutheran University of Valparaiso are deeply attached to their college. When they discover that they must complete their four-year degree elsewhere, they convince the faculty and students that they will help build the facilities needed to create a four-year program there. The young men spend the summer working for fifty cents per hour to make a new engineering laboratory possible. When a romance blossoms between two students, the young woman attempts to convert her boyfriend to Christianity. Some problems arise when the union stops work on the building; however, through the young men's faith and determination and the support of the community, the construction commences. Steel, originally allocated to a new hotel, is donated to the cause. Reverend Otto Toelke appeals to his congregation to use prayer to assist the young adults in their goal. Female students fund-raise and seek publicity for the project. A charity basketball game generates the final funds. At the beginning of the Fall term, the building that was initiated, planned and built by students, is complete.

Notes
Venture of Faith was shot entirely on location at the Univeristy of Valparaiso in Valparaiso, IN. According to a January 1952 The Lutheran Layman magazine article, the film was based on the true story of a group of engineering students who built a laboratory on the University of Valparaiso campus, in order to avoid transfering to another school to finish their four-year degree.
