Synopsis
Sid Gibson, sales promoter for Bonko detergent, persuades Arthur Ashton, a makeup man for National TV Studios, to help him promote the product by interrupting a feature program with a commercial. The resulting scandal costs Arthur his job. Sid, continuing his efforts to sell Bonko, forms a pirate station with Arthur as the director. They insert advertisements into the broadcasts of the national relays from Ascot and the Edinburgh Festival. Their "borrowed" mail van, used as a mobile transmitter, is commandeered by a gang of thieves who assume that it is filled with bullion. Hidden inside, Arthur radios the police, enabling them to pursue and capture the crooks. Sid takes advantage of Arthur's new contract with National TV to interrupt the first show with a commercial.
