Synopsis

Lawyer Otello Bellomo meets Brigitte Baker, a Boston physician, at a medical conference in Madrid. They immediately fall in love, marry, and return to his home in Naples. There, Otello tries to please his two aunts, Ada and Ida, who have made him their sole heir, and he persuades Brigitte not to reveal her profession. Her strange hours cause the suspicious aunts to hire detective Mike Spillone to follow her, and he later reports that she has been visited by the Marquis Di Vitti. After numerous visits by him and other men, Ada and Ida finally learn the truth, and Brigitte remains beyond reproach. She adds to the family's happiness by announcing that she is pregnant.
