Synopsis

Inez Valenti works as "scenery" in Grant Thorne's casino, where she falls in love with Barry King, a young man from high society. Grant, who always has controlled Inez, thinks that he is losing his hold over her, and when he is murdered mysteriously, all of the evidence points to Barry. Inez posts bail for Barry, hoping that her concern will make him love her as intensely as she loves him, but instead Barry becomes more and more attached to a former sweetheart. Inez begs Barry to leave the country with her, but he refuses. Despondent, Inez confesses to the murder in order to clear Barry, then kills herself.
