Synopsis

At a popular English seaside resort, a group of teenagers recently employed for the summer are briefed by camp secretary Miss Slightly. The group includes Gerry Pullman, a would-be singer; Timothy Gilbin, a wealthy, egotistical playboy; Christina Barrington de Witt, a reluctant opera student who has run away from her snobbish aunt in order to sing pop music; identical twins Jennifer and Susan; and Jimmy and Mike, two former store clerks. Everyone, including the resort's zany chefs, becomes interested in winning a talent contest to be televised, and the young people join together to stage a musical act. Christina's aunt arrives to supervise her niece's singing lessons and social life. With the help of the chefs and Christina's sympathetic singing coach, Professor Bastinado, Mrs. Barrington de Witt's attention is diverted as Christina goes on stage with the "Lucky Seven." The group wins first place, and romance blooms between Christina and Gerry.
