Patrick Newell was an actor who founded his entertainment career success with roles in film. Newell started his entertainment career by acting in comedies like "Trial and Error" (1962) starring Richard Attenborough and "The Alphabet Murders" (1965). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "The Avengers" (ABC, 1965-1970). He continued to act in productions like "Old Dracula" (1975), "Stand Up Virgin Soldiers" (1977) and "The Golden Lady" (1979). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Destiny of a Spy" (NBC, 1969-1970). He also worked in television around this time, including a part on "The Benny Hill Show" (1979-1984). Additionally, he appeared on the television special "Doctor Fischer of Geneva" (PBS, 1985-86). He held additional roles in television including a part on "Casanova" (1980-81). Newell more recently acted in "Consuming Passions" (1988).
