Synopsis
Billy Bowles is an excellent talent scout for a large record company in London's West End, but his unscrupulous boss, Max Catlin, sees that he gets little credit. Each Sunday Billy pays a visit to the Ladywick Orphanage where he was raised and where he now entertains the children by singing to them. Learning of the orphanage's need for money, Billy arranges a fundraising concert with the help of Julie, his secretary and girl friend. He plans to use singers employed by his company, and he writes to each singer, but, unknown to him, the letters are lost, and on the night of the concert there is a huge audience and no performers. Billy goes onstage to stall while Julie rounds up the singers, and his performance is a great success. The singers arrive; the benefit concert is a hit; the orphanage gets its money; the record company gets a new singing star in Billy; and Billy and Julie look forward to a happy future.
