Synopsis
The story of an extended family of Polish emigrees in Rome in the 1980s, who do menial jobs such as windshield washing to make ends meet until their visas come through for a fresh start in Canada. Januscz, the patriarch, disappears only to get involved in a bungled robbery that results in him being wanted for murder. Dughter Justyna attracts the attention of rapists, while another offspring is seriously disturbed and has visions of the Pope.
