Welcome to a world of sphinxes and demons, joyous Mother-Earth figures and surreal, Gaudi-like landscapes--all the product of a feminist sculptress named Niki de Saint Phalle. Beginning with her early 60's days as a divine rifle-wielding performance artist in pre-Emma Peel jumpsuits, de Saint Phalle's work has been both subversive and irresistibly beguiling. Peter Schamoni's documentary follows the evolution of her increasingly enormous goddess sculptures culminating in her masterwork, a breathtakingly ornate garden in the hills of Tuscany.
