Synopsis
In the early Fifties, a black minister arrives in Vermont to become pastor in a small town. When a lone drifter is found murdered in the town's environs, the minister is charged with the crime. A young white lawyer, the town's local hero, steps in to defend him and thereby risks his reputation.
