Synopsis
The shifting dynamics of family life are explored in the green and foggy landscapes of northern Spain, where the "King of the River" is a gigantic and mythically elusive salmon--as well as the title to be earned by the man who finally hooks the legendary fish. The characters of two brothers, one adopted and calculating, the other generous and kind, are tested against the backdrop of the magical river over a period of 18 years.
