Synopsis

THE WITCH BURNED ALIVE: Gloria, a famous actress and sex symbol, is vacationing in her resort home in the Swiss Alps with her friend Valeria. The men among the guests leer at her, and their wives are jealous. Gloria discovers that she is pregnant and telephones her husband, a motion picture producer. When he tells her that she cannot have the child because she will miss too much work, Gloria realizes the extent of her loneliness and misery. CIVIC SENSE: A lady trapped in rush hour traffic in Rome sees a truckdriver injured in an accident. She offers to take him to the hospital and proceeds to speed through the traffic. Instead of going to the hospital, however, she drives home to keep an important appointment, and the man dies in the car outside of her house. THE EARTH AS SEEN FROM THE MOON: [Performed primarily in pantomime.] Ciancicato Miao and Baciù Miao, two tramps, invent a green-haired mute named Assurda Caì to act as their servant and companion. THE GIRL FROM SICILY: When Nuncia, a young Sicilian woman, is unable to marry the man of her choice, her father starts a civil war in their village. A NIGHT LIKE ANY OTHER: Giovanna, the bored wife of a banker, fantasizes that her husband has to compete for her favors with Batman, Flash Gordon, Diabolik, and Mandrake.
