Synopsis
Pepe is a young Samoan torn between two cultures. Pepe comes to terms with his particular fate through the guidance of his friend Tagata, the mythical "flying fox" of the title--a dwarf and street-smart Europolynesian--and Toasa, the old high chief who teaches Pepe his duty to the continuity of life and his people. In a modern world from which the gods have been exiled, Pepe meets his destiny with a mischievous, rebellious spirit.
