Synopsis

Eleanor Lawson refuses the marriage proposal of wealthy Clifford Ramsay but accepts that of Fred Hopper, a breezy, fast-talking automobile salesman with big ideas and grand schemes. Early in their marriage Eleanor realizes that Fred is more talk than industry, and mounting bills force her to get a job. Even Fred is about to take that drastic step when he overhears Ramsay's plans to build on a certain site and buys the property with a loan from Letitia Calhoun. Fred makes a large profit, but Eleanor is jealous of his relations with Letitia and seeks a divorce. She is dissuaded by Fred, who promises to mend his ways.
