Synopsis
In Lahore, English engineer John Holden rescues Ameera from an unwelcome suitor. Charmed by the girl, he offers a generous dowry for her, and an elaborate native ceremony takes place. A son is born to them, and they are very happy until the boy dies and Holden is forced to go away on a construction project. When cholera breaks out in Lahore, Holden returns, but Ameera is stricken by the plague and dies.
