Synopsis
Elga Pulaski and her brother Ossip leave Russia, where they have been persecuted, for America where Elga finds happiness as the wife of Norman Hutchinson. There is a cloud over their relationship, however, because in Russia, Elga had slept with the governor who held her brother's life in his hands. When Norman discovers his wife's past, he orders her to leave the house, acting contrary to what he had argued against in the case of his sister who had married a man who later proved to be the father of an illegitimate son. The sister then asks him to practice the principle that he advocated for her, and at last Norman sees things in the proper perspective and asks Elga to forgive him and remain his wife.
