Synopsis
Tennyson Hawks is the leader of a band of thieves who, posing as private detectives, steal jewels and return them for a reward. Homer, who has a degree in amateur detection, is hired by Hawks when he realizes Homer is a sap but is fired when he demands pay. Princess Aline and her uncle arrive in New York to sell the crown jewels of their impoverished country; and with the aid of Tom Raymond, they arrange to have a reception at the home of a socialite. The crooks and Homer arrive, and he manages to retrieve the jewels each time they are stolen. Finding Homer on their trail, they leave for Canada via airplane. Homer lands on an ice floe, gets in the chest, and goes over Niagara Falls; but he recovers the jewels and captures the thieves.
