Synopsis
Beauregard brings an orphaned baby to Charlotte, a popular dancehall girl, in return for a kiss. When the dancehall is burned down by reformers, she and Edward Brent, to whom she is secretly married, go to the wilderness and open a store. Brent later trades his store and wife to Beauregard for his furs and goes downriver. Charlotte kills the trapper when he makes advances; Ralph Stevens arrives, hears the story, then sets off after Brent. They fight, Brent escapes, Charlotte follows and rescues Ralph from the water, and the two lovers are free to marry when news comes that Brent has been killed by wolves.
