Synopsis
James Manning comes to the city (Chicago) to seek his fortune. Tug Wilson offers him a job running errands, then frightens him into taking a steady position when James realizes he is involved in an opium ring. Milly Amory, with whom James entices men to Wilson's gambling den, falls in love with him and makes known his whereabouts to Mary Slocum in a seance when she comes to Chicago in search of James. He exposes the seance tricks to Mary, fights for his life with Wilson, who is killed by Milly, and returns to Harmony (Illinois) with Mary.

According to the Moving Picture World, this film (which also is known as You Are in Danger) is an amplification of one incident in a film by the same title copyrighted in 1916 by Essanay. Copyright records for the 1916 film indicate that its story was based on an Illinois Vice Commission report.
