Synopsis
Julie Le Breton, born out of wedlock to Lady Rose, is taken under the guardianship of a distant relative, Lady Delafield, who never lets the girl forget her shameful parentage. Although Lady Delafield thinks that Julie is scheming to ensnare her nephew Jacob, Julie is actually infatuated with the dashing Captain Warkworth. After attempting to further Warkworth's career by introducing him to the visiting war minister, Lady Delafield, enraged that Julie has importuned their guest, turns the girl out of the house. In a fit of desperation, Julie goes to Warkworth's quarters, followed by Jacob, who loves the girl. When Jacob exposes Warkworth's engagement to an heiress, Julie, devastated, attempts suicide. Taken to a hopital, she is discovered by Jacob, who convinces his aunt that Julie should not be punished for the sins of her mother. Apprised of Warkworth's untimely death, Julie finally accepts Jacob's love.
