Synopsis

Determined to find the murderer of McGuire, one of his employees, "The Hawk," owner of a Chinatown café, has plastic surgery on his scarred face and masquerades as Finchley, a Chicago gangster. He thus hopes to save the life of Kent, manager of his café, who is being framed on a murder charge. The Hawk gains the confidence of Dan Daugherty, owner of a rival café, whom he suspects to be the murderer, and Madelon Arden, a dancer in Daugherty's café. When he fails to prove Daugherty's guilt, the council of Chinatown, aware that Daugherty also caused the death of Ching Ling Fu, a Chinatown leader, forces Daugherty to confess to the other killing. The Hawk finds romantic interest in Madelon.
