Synopsis

Olaf Tryggvesson, a ten-year-old immigrant orphan, is sent West from New York on a train transporting a party of waifs. When the train stops, Olaf leaves and is befriended by an Indian who takes the child to his camp. Later, Dead Shot Jackson kills the Indian and his wife over a disputed card game. During the fray, Jackson's partner is also killed and Blue Wing, an Indian boy, is knocked unconscious. Unaware that Olaf has witnessed the murder, Jackson accuses Blue Wing of the crime, but Olaf exonerates him and Jackson flees. Olaf is then befriended by Parson Bill and by the Morrison family, the founders of the Canyon Creek Sunday School. Jackson takes a shot at the Parson during services one Sunday, but Olaf blocks the bullet. Jackson is apprehended and sentenced to hang, but the wounded Olaf convinces the townspeople to spare his life. Finally, Parson Bill and Mary Morrison wed and their child becomes Olaf's companion.
