Synopsis

When millionaire Marcus Gard's ruthless business practices result in the suicide of one of his rivals, the man's wife, Mrs. Marteen, decides to blackmail Gard with the information that he is a bigamist. Gard's crooked business partner, Victor Mordant, has a son Teddy who is in love with Mrs. Marteen's daughter Dorothy. In an effort to quash the match, Mordant informs Dorothy that her mother is a blackmailer. Enraged, Mrs. Marteen rushes to Mordant's house in order to confront him, only to discover that he is dead. Gard arrives soon after and assumes that Mrs. Marteen is the murderer, until Mordant's first wife is found wandering the premises and confesses to the crime. Complications thus resolved, Teddy and Dorothy are free to marry, as are Gard and Mrs. Marteen.
