Synopsis
Wealthy Mrs. Wayne announces her daughter Marian's marriage to Grandin, a man of position, and hopes that Ruth, another daughter, will marry wealthy Stephen Bond, but Ruth chooses Robert Trent, a poor man. Escaped convict Jim Marsh finds his wife, Lucy, remarried to a wealthy man, and she agrees to hide him if he does not harm her child. Meanwhile, Bob loses his position, and finding Ruth expensively attired as a result of Marian's plotting, he accuses Ruth of being unfaithful with Bond. At the moment the police shoot Marsh, Lucy hurries to Bob's apartment, where she names Bond as the father of her child. Realizing Ruth's devotion, Bob forgives her; and both couples are reconciled.
