Synopsis

Unable to curb his daughter Eva's extravagance or to rid himself of Eva's parasitic suitors, wealthy James King throws up his hands in despair, turns his family and business over to employee Adam Smith, and goes to South America. Adam's solution is to announce that King is ruined, his fortune, lost. Eva rises to the occasion and inspires the family to move to a farm, work hard, and change its ways. King returns unexpectedly and is angry at Adam's deception, but he is pleased to find that Eva has learned her lesson while falling in love with Adam.
