Synopsis
Rose Trelawney, a popular actress, marries Arthur Gower, of noble birth, and is brought into his austere household. She leaves when her in-laws insult her theater friends. Still in love with Gower, Rose loses her desire to act and faces poverty. Gower's father, Sir Arthur, attempts to help her by backing a play of hers. Unknown to Rose, Gower plays opposite her. The play is a success, and the family achieves harmony.
