Synopsis

Helene De Travillac, a sweet little French girl living with her Aunt in Paris, loves her handsome cousin, Andre D'Eguzon. Her aunt schemes to have Andre sent away, however, and in his absence, engages her niece to Valentine Borroyer, a boring and stodgy man of wealth. On the wedding morning, Andre returns and pleads with Helene to marry him. After a short hesitation, she tears off her veil and flees with her lover to her old home in the country where her grandmother mistakes Andre for Helene's husband. Valentine follows, but when he finds the lovers, proves his decency by giving them his blessing.
