Synopsis
Special based on the Scholastic book series that tells fictional stories about heroic young women during important periods in American history. In the story, at the height of the American Revolution, 16-year-old Abby spends most of her time indoors with her loving family: Papa, who is a cobbler; Mama, who becomes a laundress for General George Washington's staff; and Sally, her younger sister. Abby helps the General's wife feed the soldiers in their encampment, as she thoughtfully records in her diary the harsh realities of war.
