Catherine Disher was a Canadian actress working primarily in television. Born in Montréal in 1960, Disher worked on multiple United States and Canadian productions, mostly filmed in Toronto. She started her on-screen career in 1986, both in film and on television, and by 1988 she had a frequently-recurring role on the crime drama "T. and T." (Syndicated 1987-1990), starring Mr. T. In 1989, Disher landed another major supporting role, as Mana on the action sci-fi TV series "War of the Worlds" (Syndicated 1989-1991). After a few more brief TV parts, in 1992 Disher earned one of the biggest roles of her career, as Dr. Natalie Lambert on the horror-mystery "Forever Knight" (CBS 1992-96), a German-Canadian production shot in Toronto. That same year, Disher landed a major voice-over part as the voice of Jean Grey on the animated series "X-Men" (Fox Kids 1992-97), based on the Marvel Comics creation of Stan Lee. In later work, Disher started another lead role in 2008, as Superintendent Maggie Norton on the TV crime drama "The Border" (CBC 2008-2010), Canada's take on its own unique immigration issues. That same year, Disher had a supporting role as Martha Tinsdale in the TV movie "The Good Witch" (Hallmark 2008), starring Catherine Bell. The family-friendly fantasy was so popular that it spawned six sequel movies before being turned into its own series, "The Good Witch" (Hallmark 2015- ). Disher also had a recurring role on the medical drama "Remedy" (Global 2014-15).
