Synopsis
Horace Rumpole is back at the bar -- in Juvenile Court -- as he defends yet another member of the Timson family, a group of South London petty criminals. This time it's Cary Timson, accused of devil worship when his eight-year-old daughter is found wearing a devil's mask in her school playground. In Chambers, Rumpole's fellow barrister, Claude Erskine-Brown, colludes with the Head of Chambers, Sam Ballard, to replace Rumpole with a better class of barrister, while at home, Rumpole's wife Hilda suspects that she is about to be replaced by another woman.
