Synopsis

Because she loves her husband, Ruth decides to honor his request although it is against her religious and moral beliefs. She informs her children of their father's wishes. Her daughter is in denial and her two older sons are reluctantly supportive. Her youngest son is outraged and begins a court battle that pitts his home state of Michigan against his father's home state of California as well as pitting family members against each other.
