Synopsis
An updated adaptation of Leoncavallo's 1892 opera, set in Depression-era southern Italy, about love, betrayal and jealousy among a touring group of clowns. The plot is based on a true story which came to light during a trial over which Leoncavallo's father, a judge, presided: an actor, overcome with jealousy, killed his wife after a performance. From this, Leonvacallo fashioned his own libretto.
