Biography
Teresa Stratas was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. She appeared in a number of television specials, including "Salome" (1976-77), "Amahl and the Night Visitors" (NBC, 1978-79) and "The Bartered Bride" (PBS, 1978-79). She also appeared in "Mahagonny" (PBS, 1979-1980). She also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "La Boheme" (1981-82), "Great Moments From the Met" (PBS, 1989-1990) and "The House I Live In" (PBS, 1989-1990). She also appeared in "The Show Boat Story" (PBS, 1989-1990). More recently, she earned a role in "La Traviata" (1983). Additionally, she could be seen on a variety of television specials like "The Ghosts of Versailles" (1992-93), "Placido Domingo: A Musical Life" (PBS, 1994-95) and "The Music of Kurt Weill: September Songs" (PBS, 1994-95). Most recently, Stratas appeared in "Under the Piano" (Lifetime, 1996-97).
