Synopsis

Few shows on television celebrated the nuclear family like "Growing Pains," but behind-the-scenes, life was more complicated, dramatic and dysfunctional for the cast. Viewers are taken inside the home of the Seavers and into the lives of the actors who portrayed the wholesome family. In 1986, after one year on the air, the television show turned into a rating success, but growing up in front of a national audience was a painful experience for the show's young stars. By the show's sixth season, the tightly knit group of actors began to fall apart. After a successful seven-year run, the final original episode of "Growing Pains" aired on April 25, 1992.
