Synopsis
Follows the harrowing adventures of a 13-year-old boy who survives the American wilderness only with the help of a young Native American. Matt and his father travel to claim their land in the new territory of Maine in the 1700's. His father leaves him behind to guard the land while he returns to Massachusetts to gather the rest of the family. Typhoid fever and other tragedies strike the family and the move is delayed, leaving Matt alone in a hostile environment.
