Synopsis

Mixed-media special features animated shorts, celebrity voices and performances, and children talking about the tradition of bedtime stories. Among the featured stories: "Goodnight Moon," an adaptation of the book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd about a young bunny's pre-bedtime rituals; "There's a Nightmare in My Closet," Mercer Mayer's story about a worried little boy who's convinced a monster lives in his closet; and "Tar Beach," Faith Ringgold's tale about 8-year-old Cassie, who loves to go to Tar Beach, the rooftop of her family's apartment, where she feels the stars falling over her as she sleeps and where she learns she can fly. Live-action shorts include: "James and His Sister Chloe" and "Dreamcatchers."
