Biography

A praised Grammy winner, Aaron Neville was considered a leading talent in the music industry. Neville began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the biographical drama "Heart Beat" (1979) with Nick Nolte, the romance "The Big Easy" (1987) with Dennis Quaid and the Dustin Hoffman smash hit drama "Rain Man" (1988). His music also appeared in the drama "The Mighty Quinn" (1989) with Denzel Washington. An actor as well as a musician, Neville played a part in the Paula Walker musical "Duets: The Spirit of Collaboration" (1988) and "Everybody's All American" (1988). Neville won a Best Pop Instrumental Performance Grammy Award in 1989. In the nineties, Neville devoted his time to various credits, such as "Alive" with Ethan Hawke (1993), "Calendar Girl" with Jason Priestley (1993) and "Townsend Television" (Fox, 1993-94). He also worked on "The Last Ride" (1994) starring Mickey Rourke. Neville's music was also featured in the Richard Belzer dramatic period piece "Get on the Bus" (1996), the Jim Carrey box office smash comedy "Bruce Almighty" (2003) and "This Christmas" (2007) with Laz Alonso. In addition to his music, Neville also appeared on-screen in the suspenseful adaptation "The Fan" (1996) with Robert De Niro and "Make it Funky" (2005). Most recently, Neville worked on "Stand Up to Cancer" (CBS, 2010-11).
