Synopsis

Television movie about father-and-son talent agents in the late 1950s. Willie and Stuey Walters have an unspoken issue between them since the death of Willie's wife/Stuey's mother. Overshadowed by his father's relentlessly aggressive personality in representing a string of Borscht Belt comedians, Stuey hides his insecurity behind empty love affairs and a half-hearted attempt to follow in his dad's footsteps. When Willie is fired by his long-time client Lou Montana, the financial pressures and the stressful realities of show business begin to take their toll on the old man. Stuey must decide what he should tell his father about his true interest in the family business, and how that decision will affect their strained relationship.
