Synopsis

The second television movie that continues the story of the CBS series "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman." Dr. Mike and her husband, Sully, return to Boston to celebrate their daughter's graduation from medical school and face the challenges brought on by Mike's mother's failing health.

Mike and Sully take son Brian and daughter Katie to Boston for the graduation of their elder daughter, Colleen, from medical school and to visit Mike's mother, Elizabeth, who, unbeknownst to them, has been hospitalized for heart seizures. Though Elizabeth's doctor, Charles Cook, orders her to remain at the hospital, she insists on going home with her family. During their visit, Colleen discovers that she has been selected class valedictorian. Dr. Cook, who used his influence to get her into the formerly all-male medical school, demands she not attend the commencement to avoid embarrassing her male colleagues. When she insists on attending the ceremony, she soon finds her mentor dashing her hopes of practicing medicine at his clinic in Boston with her husband, Andrew Cook. Meanwhile, Elizabeth's condition worsens and Mike argues with Dr. Cook over his medical recommendations for her mother.
