Synopsis

The first of twelve television movies starring Burt Reynolds as B.L. Stryker, a retired New Orleans policeman, who moves to Florida to start a new career as a private investigator in Palm Beach, where his lifestyle and principles clash with the powers that be. He is pursued by a killer with a twisted sense of drama. The killer's targets, the beautiful young debutantes of Palm Beach, are put through a bizarre ritual, and all this bears a strong resemblance to a case Stryker handled when he was a New Orleans police detective.
