Synopsis
Mare Winningham plays a teenager whose search for herself after her emancipation by her family leads to the realization, after being on the road and working in a traveling carnival, that happiness can be found in her own back yard despite her conflict with her divorced mother. This film reunited the actress with several members of the creative team -- director, executive producer and photographer -- of the award-winning "Amber Waves". Singer-composer Janis Ian wrote several original songs for the film, all sung by Winningham.
