Synopsis
Adaptation of three short stories by black writers, Maya Angelou, Richard Wright and John Henrik Clarke. In "Long Black Song," set in 1938, a Southern cotton farmer discovers that his wife has had an affair with a white salesman. In "The Boy Who Painted Christ Black," set in 1948, an elementary school principal is forced to take stock of his own life when one of his students depicts Christ as a black man. In "Reunion," set in 1958, a white woman, set to marry a black man, tries to befriend the black woman she tormented years before.
