Synopsis
Adaptation of Anna Quindlen's novel about a woman who flees with her son to escape her abusive husband in order to start a new life. To the casual observer, Fran Benedetto has a handsome husband, Bobby, and adoring 10-year-old son and a house in a Long Island suburb. But what her neighbors don't see is that Bobby, a New York City cop, beats his wife. Fearing that his next attack could prove fatal, Fran musters every ounce of courage she has and flees with her son to Florida, completely changing her identity and leaving friends and family behind. However, Bobby does not want to let his family go. Using his skills as a policeman, he begins the hunt to track them down.
