Documentary film on the life of Marcus Garvey, the controversial leader of the largest mass movement of African-Americans (Universal Negro Improvement Association) in the 20th century, progenitor of the modern "black is beautiful" ideal, and a champion of the back-to-Africa movement. Uses archival footage, photographs, interviews with historians and former UNIA members and observers, dramatic readings and music.
